Cheryl Lynn Roos, 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 28, 2025 after many years of courageously battling Multiple Sclerosis.
Cheryl was born August 10, 1949, to Leo Rudger Clawson and Joyce L. Peterson Clawson, in Idaho Falls. She spent much of her younger years on horses, riding in parades and competitively in rodeos. She also enjoyed boating with her family at Palisades.
Cheryl attended her high school years at Skyline High School and was part of the first graduating class in 1967. She went on to attend Ricks College and Eastern Idaho Technical College where she received her Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
She met her eternal companion, Raeo Roos, in their ward growing up. While on his mission to Canada, they corresponded through many letters, getting to know each other. When he returned, they dated and became engaged on December 20, 1969. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 9, 1970.
Cheryl was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many leadership positions in Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary. She was also actively involved in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed working for a telephone company, babysitting, and working as a nurse at various medical clinics. With her husband, she served a mission for 5 ½ years at the Humanitarian Center in Idaho Falls. She loved performing this service and the people she got to know there.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Raeo Roos of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Cami (Scott) Cazier of Tooele, UT, son, Darren (Natalie) Roos of Corona, CA, son, Jeremy (Megan) Roos of Meridian, ID, daughter, Melisa (Jordan) Adams of Idaho Falls, ID, son, Joshua (Jamie) Roos of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, James (Susan) Clawson of Charlottesville, VA, brother, Charles (M'Recia) Clawson of Las Vegas, NV, brother, Richard (Trudy) Clawson of Rigby, ID, sister, Shirley Clawson of Salt Lake City, UT; and 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Joyce Clawson; step-mother, Ruth Clawson; brother, Ron Clawson; and sister, Deborah Clawson.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Eagle Rock Stake Center, 2020 S. Charlotte Drive, with Bishop Jeremie Pettingill officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave, and Saturday prior to services 1-1:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the New Sweden Cemetery.
