Cheri Kernes - 11/12/2001 Cheri Kernes - 11/12/2001 CHERI KERNES TWIN FALLS, ID -- Cheri Mychel Rigoulot Kernes, 50, of Twin Falls, formerly of Idaho Falls, died November 11, 2001, at the University of Utah Medical Center of complications following open heart surgery. She was born February 10, 1951, at Idaho Falls, to John Marcel Rigoulot and Vivian Elaine Labrum Rigoulot. She grew up in Idaho Falls and Rigby and attended Clair E. Gale Junior High, Rigby Junior High, and graduated from Rigby High School. She also graduated from Northwest Oklahoma State with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts. She married Sheldon Lee Kernes October 22, 1968, at Idaho Falls. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on April 13, 1971. She has been a homemaker, mother, artist, and substitute teacher. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in numerous callings over the years, including Young Women's President and in the Primary. She loved camping with the Young Women. She was a professional artist and loved it and her family. She enjoyed genealogy, art, sculpture, and animals, especially her dogs. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2001, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, with Bishop Robert Schroeder of the Twin Falls LDS 4th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and for one hour prior to the services on Friday, both at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83402-4092.
