Chelsey Meg Wood, 20, of Ammon, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was born November 28, 1996, in American Fork, Utah to Paul Thomas Wood and Shaunna Kay Ball Wood. The family moved to Rigby and later to Idaho Falls where she attended Hillcrest High School. Following graduation she attended Utah State University. Chelsey was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a strong testimony of the priesthood and of prayer and loved to share those with others. She always had a great desire to learn new things. Whenever she found a new book she was never able to put it down. Recently, she gained a love for genealogy. She spent hours each day searching for stories and names of those that had come before her. She loved sharing these stories. One of Chelsey’s greatest callings in life was being a sister. From a young age she always cared for her sisters in many ways, from changing a diaper to having a shoulder to cry on. Her love for children grew, which led her to Little Peoples Academy where she worked for 3 years and was loved by everyone that knew her. Another great blessing she received was being an aunt to two nephews and niece who loved her unconditionally. She was always willing to jump on the tramp, go on a walk, or take them to the park. They loved their Aunt CeCe. Chelsey is survived by her parents, Paul and Shaunna Wood of Ammon, ID; two brothers, Tysen (Tashlynn) Wood of Las Vegas, NV and Logan (Emilee) Wood of White Pigeon, MI; five sisters, Charey (Tegan) Jenkins of Idaho Falls, ID, Kylie Wood, Livia Wood, Remi Wood, and Kalli Wood all of Ammon, ID; grandfather, Don Ball of Iona, ID; two nephews, Bridger Wood and Lincoln Wood of Las Vegas, NV; and a niece, Mary Jenkins of Idaho Falls, ID. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Janet Kay Ball, and grandparents, Ralph and Margaret Wood. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2017, at the Ammon LDS 24th Ward, 3934 East 49th South, with Bishop Andrew Mangeris officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
