Charlotte Räder Danklefsen, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away on May 24, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born December 16, 1931, in Sagan, Sprottau, Germany, to Otto Räder and Frieda Weigelt Räder. She grew up and attended schools in Germany.
On December 27, 1949, she married George Josef Danklefsen in Ehrenstetten, Germany. Their marriage was solemnized in the Swiss LDS Temple on July 18, 1966. They were blessed with five children, George, Renate, Susan, Robert, and Karen. George and Charlotte later moved to Chicago, Illinois, and then to Idaho Falls, Idaho. Charlotte was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. George passed away on November 9, 2014.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in various callings including Relief Society Presidency, visiting teacher, ward librarian, and ward missionary.
She enjoyed quilting and making blankets for children in need. She helped feed many families who needed assistance. She loved to cook for her family, and was a mother for missionaries who were far from home. She loved to be “Oma” to her 26 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. They were the rays of sunshine in her life.

Daughter: Renate F. (Phillip) Southwick of Tremonton, Utah
Daughter: Susan C. (Kent) Shirley of Idaho Falls
Son: Robert O. Danklefsen of Idaho Falls
Daughter: Karen L. (Michael) Youngstrom of Idaho Falls
26 Grandchildren and 42 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; and two grandsons.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at the Ammon LDS 17th Ward (4459 John Adams Parkway) with Bishop Allen Landon officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon) and on Saturday from 12-12:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
