C. RAY STONE POCATELLO, ID -- Charles Raymond Stone, 90, died August 2, 2008, at Pocatello Care and Rehabilitation Center in Pocatello, Idaho. Ray was born June 29, 1918, in his family's home at Chapin, Idaho. He was the youngest of four children of George and Bessie Smith Stone. Ray attended school at Chapin and Bates, Idaho. Ray and his mother, Bessie, moved from Teton Basin to Idaho Falls in the early 1940's, where Ray worked on construction. They lived in Blackfoot awhile, then later bought an apartment house at 480 South 7th in Pocatello. The last three years of Bessie's life, she suffered greatly and she required around the clock care. Ray quit his job and cared for her, with the help of a kind care giver, Stella Wade. After his mother’s death, Ray was re-hired by the City of Pocatello. He continued to work at the Pocatello City Cemetery until he retired. Ray enjoyed telling about family trips with his mother, father and brother, Glenn. He also enjoyed telling of vacations he took to Hawaii, Fiji, Tahiti, and Samoa. Ray is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Della Stone, Goldie Grace Miller and Glenwood Stone. Neither Ray nor the three siblings had children. Ray was a wholesome gentleman and a true friend. He would want to thank Wesley Peterson and George Sharp, owners of Cottonwood Cove in Pocatello for the kindness they showed him as his health deteriorated during 2008. Graveside Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2008, at the Victor Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, P. O. Box 51434, Idaho Falls, ID 83405-1434. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.woodfuneralhome.com. ---------------------------------------------
