Charles Warren “Chuck” Miller, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society, Idaho Falls Village. He was under the care of his family and Hands of Hope Hospice. Chuck was born August 18, 1930, in Belgrade, Nebraska, to Arthur Adelbert Miller and Edith Miriam Bennett Miller. He attended elementary school in Nebraska before his family moved to Rigby, Idaho, and he graduated from Rigby High School in 1947. Chuck served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge. Before settling in Idaho Falls, Chuck lived in many places, including Utah; Yuma, Arizona; Boise, Idaho; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Pocatello, Idaho. On March 20, 1987, he married Mae Hinckley in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Chuck started his working career at Idaho Power then went to work at Mountain Bell, where he worked his way up from general laborer to lineman to engineer. He was one of the only engineers working for the phone company that didn’t have a college degree and was self-taught. He retired after nearly 33 years of service in 1988. During and after his retirement from the phone company he was responsible for engineering many of the fibre optics lines in Idaho, Arizona, Nevada, and Washington. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Chuck loved golfing and spending time with his family. He had a second home in Yuma, Arizona, which he enjoyed during the winter months. He worked as a marshal at his local golf course in Yuma and enjoyed spending time with friends in Yuma. Survivors include: Wife: Mae Miller of Idaho Falls, ID; Daughter: Teresa (Owen) Denison of Alpine, UT; Daughter: Michelle Forsgren of Boise, ID; Son: Jon (Kim) Miller of Las Vegas, NV; Brother: Ed Miller of Seattle, WA; Brother: Dale (Janice) Miller of Yakima, WA; and Brother: Tom (Mary) Miller of Rupert, ID 7 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Pauline Rieken, Ruth Cunningham, and Lynn Miller. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the Idaho Falls LDS Sageview Ward, 1345 Clarence, with Byron Nukaya officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
