Charles & June Rose

Charles (Chuck) Edward Walter Rose, passed away on October 29, 2026. He was followed by the love of his life, June Lorraine (Helm) Rose, just 26 hours later, on Oct 30, 2026, going to the next chapter of the most beautiful love story.

Chuck, known as Sam to many, was born November 24, 1948, to Edward (Dutch) and Lorraine Rose, in Pocatello, Idaho. He was the fourth child of six.

The family moved many places. Chuck grew up mainly in South East Idaho, but also California. He was an adventurous child and loved being outdoors.

June was born March 14, 1951, to Douglas and Annie Helm, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was the second child of what would become a beautifully blended family of 10 children. Annie and Douglas divorced when June was just a baby. She was raised by her mom, Annie, and her dad, John Sparks.

Her family mainly lived in Idaho Falls and the surrounding areas. She was a quiet, beautiful girl who grew to be a beautiful person inside & out.

Chuck and June met as very young children. He was the boy across the street and even though he threw cherries and crab apples at her, she grew to have a huge, life long crush on him. Even throughout the many travels, the families stayed friends.

Both Chuck and June would date other people in their teens, but their fates were sealed. June finally got her lifelong wish in 1967, when the boy across the street asked her on their first date. They married that same year on Oct 28th (her mother’s birthday). Charles was only 18, June 16, but they knew it was meant to be.

For several years before they had children, they moved around the East Idaho area. Nine years later, they would start their family. Their son, Charles (Little Chuck), was born in 1976, followed by their daughter, Gypsy (Munch), in 1979. While Little Chuck was a baby, before Gypsy was born, they lived for a short time in Washington. They raised their children in Idaho Falls.

They spent many days teaching their children what family was really meant to be. Both of them fondly remember hours and days fishing either on the Snake River, Blacktail reservoir, or Palisades Reservoir. The family loved to go camping and hiking (June reluctantly). Both of them loved animals and had many pets over the years. They were both members of the Snake River CB club in the 80s. His handle was Scotch & Soda, she was Midnight Madness. He also loved racing and would race at Noise Park in his younger days. Chuck loved to read and you would often find him with one of several paperbacks. He also loved to draw. The grandchildren loved to have him sketch for them. June loved to spend time with her children and other family. June also loved to play Bingo. She never met a game show she did not like. Chuck was a member of the Elk’s Club and they were both members of the Eagle’s club.

Their later years were spent side by side often holding hands, spoiling their four grandchildren. They really taught their children and grandkids that life is love and family. We will forever hold them in our hearts.

They are survived by Chuck's sisters, May Miller of Pueblo, CO, Diana Nebeker of Idaho Falls, ID, & Helen McCord of Blackfoot, ID; June’s brothers, Howard (Shirley) Helm of Lakewood, WA, Mike (Kathy) Sparks of Idaho Falls, Allen Helm of Spokane, WA; June’s sisters, Nellie Downing of Tacoma WA, and Peggy Mutchie of Tacoma WA; their children, son Charles Rose of Idaho Falls and daughter Gypsy (Josh) Truesdell of Idaho Falls; their grandchildren, Aryn of Albuquerque, NM, JAC of Lynwood, WA, Danny (Olivia) of Idaho Falls,ID and Walker of St. George, UT; as well as many nieces & nephews.

They were preceded in death by their parents, Edward and Lorraine Rose, Annie & John Sparks - Douglas Helm; Chuck’s sister, Glenda Kendall and brother, Harry “Eugene” Rose; brother by love, Darwin Walker; and June’s brother, John K Sparks; and her sisters, Nettie Sparks, Mary Walker, & Wendy Blakely. They were also preceded by their brother-in-laws, Leonard Kendall, Joe Nebeker, Blaine McCord, Bill Downing, and Jim Mutchie; and sister-in-law by love, Betty Walker.

The family would like to thank Symbii Home Health & Hospice and The Gables of Ammon for helping to take care of them.
