Charles Eugene “Chuck” Bousquet, 80, of Idaho Falls and Ammon, passed away October 1, 2010, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center due to complications of COPD. He was born February 4, 1930, in Springfield, Massachusetts, to Sylvio A. Bousquet and Amy Lee Simpson Bousquet, the oldest of four boys. He attended schools in the Springfield area and graduated from Cathedral High School. Chuck joined the United States Navy in 1947. He proudly served his country for 30 years. He lived and served all over the world and the United States. He served at the end of WWII and witnessed the signing of the peace treaty between the United States and Japan. He served two tours during the Korean War and two tours in Vietnam. A lot of his tours of duty were abroad many ships, destroyers, sub tenders, and cruisers. The USS Boston, a guided missile cruiser, was his favorite. On March 8, 1952, he married Patricia Wright in Yuma, Arizona, who at the time was also in the Navy. Together they raised three children. Patricia passed away on January 30, 2003, after almost 51 years of marriage. Chuck was a member of the Catholic faith. He was involved with Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, Order of the Arrow, the FRA, and the California Law Enforcement Warrant Officers Association. He was also a member of the Navy Memorial. He enjoyed reading, traveling, and Native American Studies. Chuck is survived by his daughters Theresa M. (Bryan Walker) Bousquet-Walker of Ammon, and Elizabeth S. (Vaughn Schmidt) Bousquet of Wheatland, CA, his five Grandchildren: Jessica M. Bousquet of CA, Nicholas A. Varisco of CA, Joshua M. Walker of ID, Jessica R. Walker of NE, and Lanissa E. Walker of ID, and four Great Grandchildren: Destiny P. Bousquet of CA, Chaz Cruze of NE, Kellen Cruze of NE, and Rylee Cruze of NE. Where ever Charles and Patricia lived, they were always around and active with children, so Chuck is survived by many, many, many unofficial adopted children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Patricia, three brothers: Robert, Albert, and George Bousquet, and his son, Richard Bousquet, who was also career Navy of 22 ½ years. Chuck was very worried about these troubled times and the financial difficulties everyone has been going through. His express wishes were for everyone, his family and friends alike, who lived at any kind of distance, to stay home and each hold their own memorial for him in their own towns and in their own ways. At his request, no public services will be held.
