Charlene Weinkauff

On Saturday, May 5 2018, Charlene Dorothy Emery Weinkauff, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. Charlene was born August 16,1941, to Willis Edward Emery and Dorothy Ruth Peck in Livingston, Montana. Charlene spent most of her childhood in Montana, living in several different areas until moving to Idaho Falls in 1968. Charlene went back to school and got her GED and took several classes at EITC. She got a job as a custodian at the INEEL where she worked her way up to a clerical position. She worked at the site until she took early retirement to stay home and help raise her grandchildren. On December 27,1991, she married David John Weinkauff in Idaho Falls. She loved being outdoors with her husband and never turned down an opportunity to be with her grandchildren. She loved gardening and enjoyed weekend motorcycles rides with her husband and went all out for camping and fishing trips with her grandchildren. There wasn't a day that she wasn't outdoors. Charlene was an active member of The Idaho Falls Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, Dave Weinkauff of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Ronald ( Brenda) Francis of Inver Grove Heights, MN; her step-children David (Liberty) Sholder; Shana (Duston) McClure; Kristy (Brady) Young all of Idaho Falls, ID; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, daughter, Tyrene Lonnie Bayat of Idaho Falls, ID; her brother, Claude Francis of Billings, MT; and her beloved dog, Chester. The family wishes to express our sincere love and gratitude to Lindsay Smith for the love and tender care given to Charlene, especially the last few months. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 12, 2018, at The Idaho Falls Church of Christ, 2650 Plommon Street. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans Yellowstone Chapter 6 to P.O. Box 2484, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83403.
