Charlene Lynn (Long) Sullivan

Charlene Lynn Sullivan, 62, of Rigby, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 6, 2022, at Sage Grove Assisted Living.

Charlene was born September 15, 1959, in Bakersfield, California, to Michael Neil Long and Linda Jean Anderson Gregson. She grew up in Lake Isabella and Bakersfield, and attended school in both locations, but graduated from Foothill High School in Bakersfield in 1977.

On March 29, 1980, she married Jay Sullivan in Bakersfield. They were blessed with two children, Jamee and Jeffrey. They lived in Bakersfield until March of 1996 when they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in Las Vegas where Charlene worked as a secretary, and retired in 2017. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Cole, Corey, Sean, and Hailee May. Charlene and Jay were later divorced. In June of 2020, Charlene moved to Rigby, Idaho, to be closer to her family.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved her family and was happy to have them around. She was the life of the party, she was loud, she was funny, she was kind, but the most important thing is that she loved everyone. She didn’t know a stranger, she was friends with everyone. She would go out of her way to make her family know they were loved. Charlene loved all animals, but she had two dogs that she loved with all her heart and would ask about them often.

Charlene is survived by her daughter, Jamee (Matthew) Jolley of Iona, ID; son, Jeffrey (Kristina) Sullivan of Rigby, ID; mother, Linda Gregson of Rockdale, TX; sister, Carlene Potochnik of Mart, TX; brother, Michael (Nannette) Long of Ammon, ID; and her 4 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Long; sister, Laura Shatswell; niece, Kristina Long; and stepfather, Gayle Kelley.

Private family services will be held.
