Chad Anthony Campos, 43, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 22, 2015, in Driggs, Idaho.
He's gone.
Now he's gone, now he's gone Lord he's gone, he's gone.
Like a steam locomotive, rollin' down the track
He's gone, gone, nothin's gonna bring him back...He's gone.
Our husband, father, son, brother, and friend. You're gone, and yet you feel so close to all of us. You are in our minds and our hearts, always wearing that big smile that hid so much; we know there was so much going on in that wonderful mind.
You were an artist with words, and you used them to bring peace and happiness to those you loved, justice to those you served, and laughter to all those you encountered. Your sarcasm and dry humor did nothing to dampen the love you made us feel as you welcomed us into your home and your heart, and for those who appreciated them, made us feel loved all the more.
Despite everything going on in that wonderful mind, you exuded calmness and were easygoing from the beginning. While the world at times raged around you, you were a source of calm and peace for those around you.
The sound of your laughter rings in our ears, along with the music that was always so much a part of you. You shared that music with others, not just as a collection of sounds, but as the poetry that you found and felt in it.
You could not disguise the excitement you felt for our achievements. The pride you had for each of us was evident in your words, in your actions, in your eyes. The love you felt for each of us came through loud and clear.
Your hugs still make us feel special, like the only person in the world while you held us.
You were a man with so much to offer those around you. You were a man, imperfections and all. You are our husband, our father, our son, our brother, our friend.
You're gone. Maybe you're off where the wind don't blow so strange, maybe off on some high mountain chain. Maybe you're just in a quiet, calm place, calmly sucking on two fingers, pondering all that is.
We miss you. We love you. You're gone, and you are still with us.
