Celia Stuart - 03/31/2003 Celia Stuart - 03/31/2003 CELIA STUART IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Celia Etta Stuart, 100, of Idaho Falls, died March 28, 2003, at Idaho Falls Care Center of natural causes. She was born November 29, 1902, at Pocatello, to Willis Edward Verley and Nora Dover Verley. She grew up and attended schools in Pocatello. She married Ernest Albert Stuart December 23, 1918, in Pocatello. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple June 3, 1921. She was a homemaker and mother. Her first job was as a sheet flipper for Troy Laundry. She and her husband owned several businesses in the Pocatello and Lava Hot Springs areas, including the Del Monte Grocery Store. They also raised Shetland ponies for many years. After their retirement they spent many winters in Mesa, Arizona and summers at Pond’s in Island Park. Her husband passed away October 26, 1987. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many and various positions over the years. She was a great cook and loved to fly fish, square dance, and do bead work and crafts. Crocheting was her favorite activity. The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the staff and many friends she made at the Idaho Falls Care Center for their love and kind attentive care. Surviving are:Daughter: Alberta [Carl] Smith, Idaho Falls, IDSon: LeRoy [Linda] Stuart, Lake San Marcos, CADaughter: Noralene [Allen] Stubblefield, Boise, ID 20 Grandchildren, 57 Great Grandchildren, 32 Great Great GrandchildrenPreceded in death by her husband, a son, Albert Stuart, two in-law children, her parents, a brother, and two sisters. Funeral services will be a 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2003, at the Pocatello North Stake Center, 4890 Whitaker Road, Chubbuck. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and Thursday for one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Cemetery in Pocatello under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. If you would like to offer your condolences fill in the form below.
