CELIA QUIÑONES-NUÑEZ Click here to view a Tribute of Celia's life IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Celia Quiñonez Nuñez, 72, of Idaho Falls, died January 24, 2008, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of natural causes. She was born August 26, 1935, in Zacatecas, Mexico, to Jesus Quiñonez and Rosa M. Pinedo Quiñonez. She was the firstborn of nine children. She grew up and attended schools in Zacatecas. On June 27, 1951, she married Salvador Nuñez in Zacatecas, Mexico. Together they had 11 children. She lived in Mexico for 33 years, Los Angeles, California, for 37 years, and recently moved to Idaho Falls, where she lived the last two and a half years. She was a member of the Roman Catholic Holy Rosary Church. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and especially spending time with her family. Life provided many experiences and challenges for her; the knowledge she gained from these made her a very wise woman. Survivors include: Husband: Salvador Nuñez Daughter: Emma (Jose) Carrillo, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Reynaldo (Rosario) Nuñez, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Eva (Enrique) Rivera, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Vicky (Manuel) Virrey, Riverside, CA Daughter: Rosie Ramirez, Downey, CA Son: Salvador (Estella) Nuñez, Vista, CA Son: Gilbert (Sonia) Nuñez, Yorba Linda, CA Daughter: Aricelia (Martin) Nava, Bellflower, CA Son: Abel Nuñez, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter-in-Law: Amparo Nuñez, South Gate, CA Son-in-Law: Benjamin Calderon, Yuma, AZ Sister: Elisa Espitia Sister: Esperanza Gomez Sister: Edilia Fabela Sister: Amparo Ramos Brother: Benjamin Quiñonez Brother: Samuel Quiñonez 36 Grandchildren & 29 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Maria Calderon, a son, Joaquin Nuñez, a grandson, Andres Nuñez, a sister,Maria de Jesus Pinedo, and a brother, Francisco Quiñonez. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 9th and Lee Streets, Idaho Falls, with Deacon Alvaro Ponce officiating. Rosary will be held Monday at 7 p.m. and visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m., both at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. Celia will always be in my heart as well as the other members of the family that has gone before us. Celia was a great Lady and how wonderful it was for me that I had the privelge of calling her my Moher-in-law and for my children to have her as a Grandmother and Great grand mother.
