Cecil Perez

Cecil Padilla Perez, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 27, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Cecil was born August 6, 1932, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Cecilio S. Perez and Rosa Padilla Perez. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls. He served as a Corporal in the United States Army. He served his apprenticeship in the United Association of Plumbers & Pipe Fitters. On February 23, 1957, he married Janice Marie Denning in Idaho Falls. To this union were born three children, Terry, Calista, and Rosemary. Cecil and Janice made their home in Idaho Falls, where Cecil worked as a pipe fitter for Westinghouse, the Naval Reactor Facility, and in construction. He was a member of Local 648. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and eating at North Hiway Café. Family and friends were the most important things to him. Cecil is survived by his son, Terry (Kathy) Perez of Idaho Falls; daughter, Calista Perez of Idaho Falls; daughter, Rosemary (Spencer) Brookshier of Idaho Falls; brother, Greg (Angelina) Perez of Rigby, ID; sister, Rita Perez of Idaho Falls; brother, Adolf (Uteve) Perez of Idaho Falls; brother, Julian (Connie) Perez of Meridian, ID; brother, Alex (Carol) Perez of Idaho Falls; sister, Mary (Dean) Kauffman of Idaho Falls; sister, Margie (Jack) Ugaki of Idaho Falls; sister, Juanita (Carlos) Castillo of Meridian, ID; sister, Lupe (Mike) Kelsch of Idaho Falls; brother, Tony (Tina) Perez of Rigby, ID; 6 grandchildren, Tanya (Ho) Dean, KC (Tami) Perez, Travis (Leslie) Perez, Gus Brookshier, Alexandra Brookshier, and Gabrielle Brookshier; and 6 great grandchildren, Rhiannen Perez, Kenten Perez, McKenna Perez, Kagen Perez, Colbie Perez, and Rosalie Brookshier. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; four brothers, Joe P. Perez, J. Asunción Perez, George Perez, and Danny Perez; and a sister, Sandra Ilg. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 9th & Lee Streets, with Father Raul Covarrubias officiating. A Rosary will be held Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Deacon Wence Rodriquez officiating. The family will visit with friends following the rosary until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with military rites performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
