Cary G. Buster, 84, of Meridian, Idaho, passed away at home on January 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on September 24, 1940, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Forrest "Jack" Buster and Alta Buster, Cary grew up in a close-knit family with his older brother, Hal, and sisters, Marilyn and Kathy.
Cary graduated from South Fremont High School in 1958, and went on to earn a degree in Business Management from Idaho State University. After college, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the U.S. Army and completing a tour in Iran.
On February 12, 1966, Cary married Carla Packer at the Fun Farm in St. Anthony, Idaho, beginning a beautiful 59-year partnership. Together, they raised four children and built a life centered on love, family, and adventure.
Cary's career journey reflected his diverse talents and dedication. He worked for ten years in the Forest Service before transitioning to a successful career in real estate, which spanned over two decades. During a three-year interlude, Cary moved his family to Arizona where he embraced a new challenge as a surveyor. In his later years, he continued to work and connect with people during his decade at Walmart, where he was known for his warm personality and strong work ethic.
Cary's passions extended beyond work. He loved spending time outdoors, whether fishing, golfing, or skiing on both water and snow. He had a zest for life and a quiet strength that inspired those around him.
Cary was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Tara Jo; his brother, Hal; his sister, Marilyn; sister-in-law, Betty; and brother-in-law, Garth Baldwin.
He leaves behind a legacy of love through his wife, Carla; his children, Tawna (Matt) Jones, Stacy (Kirt) Taylor, and Spencer (Stephanie) Buster; and many other family members and friends who will deeply miss his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.
Cary will be remembered as a man of integrity, humor, and compassion, who left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, Ammon, ID 83406.
