Carrie "Peaches" Gardner

Our feisty mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend reunited with her sweetheart on September 2, 2016. Peaches was born September 18, 1927 in Bone, Idaho to Ralph and Carrie Butler. She spent her childhood in Bone and Blackfoot, Idaho.

She attended school in Blackfoot, Idaho from first through tenth grade. Her family relocated to Idaho Falls in 1942. Peaches graduated in 1945 from Idaho Falls High School. She worked at The Den, Anita Dress Shop, Snow Balls Sport Shop, and dedicated 18 years working for the state of Idaho. While working at The Den, Peaches met her devoted sweetheart VerNon Gardner. They married May 21, 1946 in Dillon, Montana.

Peaches enjoyed camping, traveling, crossword puzzles, and helping to build their cabin in the Palisades with the help of their kids and family. She loved her grandchildren dearly. She loved fiercely and teased generously.

Peaches is survived by her children, Gregory (Jannis) Gardner of Hurricane, Utah, Bradley (Marlene) Gardner of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Leslie (Tom) Charboneau of Idaho Falls Idaho; nine grandkids; 18 great grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Morgan of American Falls, Idaho and Doris Remsburg of Idaho Falls, Idaho; two brothers, Ralph Butler Jr. (Geneva) of Ammon, Idaho, and Floyd Butler of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Preceded in death by her parents, her dear husband VerNon, seven sisters, and three brothers.

The family would like to thank the staff of Fair Winds assisted living and One Source hospice for their exceptional care of our beloved Peaches.
