Carolyn Ann Peterson Curtis passed away at home on December 20, 2025, after a long fight with Alzheimer’s disease. Kent, her husband of 55 years, was her dedicated caregiver and cherished her until the end. She was also under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
She was born on October 22, 1947, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Chris and Ruth Peterson, and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She lived in Idaho Falls her entire life. She worked at King’s department store for many years, and then as a medical office manager for Dr. Judy Jones.
She married Kent Curtis in 1970, and they raised seven children together. She was a thoughtful and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who started and continued many treasured family traditions, especially around the holidays. She loved scrapbooking, and the family often commented that she virtually had her own craft store in her home. She researched both sides of her family back several generations and enjoyed visiting cemeteries to photograph ancestor’s headstones.
She is survived by her husband, Kent Curtis; seven children, Melanie (Gary) Quast, Amy Fisher (Tim Stinson), Michael Curtis (Amanda Bramblett), Jeremy (Megan) Curtis, Benjamin (Faith) Curtis, Timothy Curtis, and Matthew Curtis (Colleen DeBolin). She is also survived by her sister, Chris (Mike) Gneiting; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Ruth Peterson; and her sister, Darlene Russom.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends Friday from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
