Carolyn Croft, age 67, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 9, 2023, at home, under the care of Hospice and close family, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Carolyn was born January 9, 1956, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to David Harding Croft and Laurell Reed Croft. She grew up on a farm west of Idaho Falls with her parents and six siblings. She attended Idaho Falls schools, Ricks College in Rexburg, and Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where she earned a degree in Elementary Education.
Carolyn was briefly married to Rickie G Weekes, and from that union, they were blessed with three children.
Carolyn was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life.
Carolyn loved growing up on the farm and ranch doing chores and playing. She loved traveling and being in new and various places. She was able to travel throughout Europe; there she enjoyed visiting castles, cathedrals, ancient ruins and driving along cobblestone roadways. Several trips across the United States took her to Church History sites and national parks, and historical landmarks. The beaches of Hawaii had a special place in her heart.
Carolyn spent 31 years teaching at Ucon Elementary; she loved teaching and taught 1st, 3rd, and 4th grades. The Ucon community was kind and welcoming. She enjoyed meeting students later in life and learning where their lives had taken them.
Some of the best times of her life were spent being with and doing things with her 13 grandchildren; from playing at parks and watching movies to watching them participate in their different activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Laurell Croft.
Survivors include her children, Travis R. (Sara) Weekes, Jennifer (Paul) Hansen both of Idaho Falls, and Brandon Croft (Trisha) Weekes of Orem, UT; her brothers, Michael R. (Sharmain) Croft of Kaysville, Utah, Stephen D. (Angela) Croft, Jestin D. (Barbara) Croft, and William H. (Laurie) Croft, all of Idaho Falls, and John Wyatt (Shauna) Croft of American Falls, ID; her sister, Lorraine (Daniel) Scholes of Hyrum, UT; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Carolyn and her family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Nathan Brad Adams and his staff at the Teton Cancer Institute in Idaho Falls and OneSource Home Health and Hospice for their kindness and great care.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2023, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints St. Leon Building, 6925 N. 15th East, with Bishop Jeff Elder of the Idaho Falls Summit Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
