Carol Ava (Godfrey) Park, 95, passed peacefully from this life on December 17, 2025.
She was born on November 22, 1930, to Charles E. Godfrey and Claudia Hansen Godfrey. Carol grew up in the Garfield area, where she attended school and later graduated from Ucon High School in 1948.
On July 22, 1949, Carol married the love of her life, Norman D. Park, after the two met at a dance. Together, they shared a devoted marriage and a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. They lived in the Garfield area for five years before moving to Granger, Utah, where they resided for six years. In 1967, they returned to Idaho and built a home on County Line Road, where they raised their family for the next 40 years. In 2007, Carol and Norman built their retirement home in Ashton, Idaho, where they lived until Norman’s passing. Carol resided in Ucon at the time of her death. Carol and Norman were the proud parents of five children: Christine, Susan, Charles, Eva, and Diane.
Carol worked as a bookkeeper for several local businesses and was known for her honesty, integrity, and reliability. She had many interests and talents and loved to travel, paint, sew, garden, and knit. She truly had a green thumb and took great joy in the beautiful flowers she grew. A lifelong learner, Carol took classes in basket weaving, stained glass, pottery, gardening, needlework, cooking, sewing, and many other pursuits.
A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Carol faithfully served in many callings, including sports director and Girls Camp director. Her faith guided her life and her service to others.
Carol is survived by her children, Christine (Glenn) Humpherys, Susan Landerman, Charles (Trena) Park, Eva (Wayne) Smith, and Diane (Brad) Rhodes; siblings, Evan Godfrey, Bruce (Judy) Godfrey, and Sharla (Warren) Grover; and her 35 grandchildren, 116 great-grandchildren, and 37 great-great-grandchildren, with three more on the way—each of whom was a great joy and blessing in her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman D. Park; her grandson, George Humpherys; her son-in-law, James Landerman; and her parents, Charles and Claudia Godfrey.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Garfield Building, 5th North 3900 East, Rigby, Idaho.
