Carol Ann Kraft, age 84, peacefully passed away on December 16, 2024, in Idaho Falls.
Carol was born December 22, 1939, to Thelma and Parker Newcomb in Bel Fourche, South Dakota. She was the youngest of three children.
Carol spent her early years in California, South Dakota, and the Hanford Trailer City before her family settled in Blackfoot, Idaho, where she graduated High School in 1957. She worked as a secretary at the Naval Reactors Facility, and met her future husband, Robert Kraft, playing cards on the bus. They were married May 15, 1964, and returned to Idaho Falls, after Bob's discharge from the Navy.
Throughout her career, Carol worked in various secretarial positions, but most valued her time at Westinghouse Idaho Nuclear Company. Carol was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed bowling, gardening, crossword puzzles, Jazz basketball, and playing cards and games with her family and friends. In their later years, her sister was her constant companion, and they had many adventures together that she lovingly called her "Weekends with Bonnie," which included travel, roller coasters, and white water rafting. She will be remembered for her love, humor, and sassy attitude.
Carol is survived by her three children Mark (Nancy) Kraft of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Kim (Bobby) Melillo of Scottsdale, Arizona; and Anne (William) McCartin of Idaho Falls, Idaho; seven grandchildren, Jesse, Jordan (Kelsey), Katelin (Brandon), Kylie, Aidan, Clara, and Audrey; and five great-grandchildren, Karsyn, Cohen, Kacie, Hudson and Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, her brother Parker Newcomb, and her sister Bonnie Hahn.
