IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Carol Arlene Mortensen, 63, of Idaho Falls, died April 6, 2008, at her home.
She was born May 21, 1944, in Shelley, Idaho, to Clifford Grant Mortensen and Vonnie Reed Mortensen. She grew up in the Idaho Falls area and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She cooked at various fast food restaurants, worked as a seamstress, and most recently, was a technician at Scientech. She has lived in Idaho Falls and Ammon.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various positions in the church. Carol was very talented. She enjoyed singing, sewing, and being a creative artist.
Survivors include:
Brother: Lonnie (Penny) Mortensen, Idaho Falls, ID
Sister: Shelly (Kenny) Buttars, Shelley, ID
She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2008, at the Idaho Falls LDS Taylor Crossing Ward, 2040 Brentwood Drive, with Bishop Kent Browning officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Primary Children’s Medical Center Foundation, 100 North Medical Drive, P. O. Box 58249, 1-801-588-3675, Salt Lake City, Utah 84158-0249.
