CAROL MAYER-COWDEN
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Carol Lynn Mayer-Cowden, 59, of Idaho Falls, died October 14, 2006, at her home.
She was born December 17, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, to Vern DeRose King and Mildred Gertrude Coope King. She attended schools and lived in Brooklyn, NY, until moving to Idaho Falls 32 years ago.
She married John Earl Cowden in 1978. She worked in Loss Prevention and as Assistant Manager of Home Improvement for Sears for several years. She served as a Lieutenant for the Bonneville County Sheriff's Reserves and also volunteered in the Bonneville Sheriff's Explorers for 15 years.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren Conner, Landon, Griffin and Carlie, and enjoyed gardening, knitting and cooking.
She is survived by:

Daughter: Kathryn Mayer (Chris) Draper, Nashville, TN
Son: Stephen Matthew (Jacquelyn) Cowden, Phoenix, AZ
Father: Vern DeRose King, Portsmouth, VA
Brother: Richard Vern King, Dallas, TX
Sister: Linda Elaine King, Norfolk, VA
4 Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred G. King.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2006, at Wood East Side Chapel, 963 South Ammon Road, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to services at Wood East Side.
