Carol Ludean Nelson, 74, of Ammon, passed away March 10, 2024, at her son’s home in Rock Springs, Wyoming. She was under the care of Sweetwater Hospice at her son, Brian’s home.
Carol was born June 19, 1949, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Thomas Edward Herndon and Pearl Scott Herndon. She grew up and attended schools in Ririe and Idaho Falls.
On May 23, 1968, she married Clarence Andrew Nelson Jr. in Idaho Falls. Carol and Clarence made their home in Ammon, Idaho, where Carol worked as a dietician for Good Samaritan.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, quilting, and her grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her son, Clarence (Velma) Nelson of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Brian (Michelle) Nelson of Rock Springs, WY; son, Kevin (Sheila) Nelson of Idaho Falls, ID; 9 grandchildren,15 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother; three sisters; and one granddaughter.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue, in Idaho Falls. A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services, both visitations at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
