Carol Sue (Farnes) Scott

We are heartbroken to announce the death of Carol Sue Farnes Scott on Friday, April 11, 2025. Carol has returned to the arms of her loving Heavenly Father after a beautiful life shared with her husband, Rodney Scott.

Carol was born June 11, 1961, to Glen Harold Farnes and Ida Doriene Egan Farnes. She spent most of her early years in Ammon, Idaho, and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1979. She also graduated from Ricks College (now BYU-Idaho) in 1984 with focuses in dental assisting, nursing, home economics, and secretarial work.

After meeting and falling in love with Rodney Earl Scott, Carol and Rod were blessed to be sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on January 11, 1985. Throughout their marriage, they lived in various towns throughout Wyoming and Idaho, eventually settling in Ammon.

Carol was a woman of many talents and had a deep love for crafting. She created beautiful woodwork, floral arrangements, and fabric décor, and also enjoyed scrapbooking, upholstery, and painting. She loved to cook, especially for others. She was an impressive seamstress and created stunning clothing, including suits and wedding dresses. Carol had a big heart and found joy in using her many talents to bless the lives of those around her.

Her talents extended to her work and church callings throughout her life. She worked as a caretaker for the elderly, a speech therapy assistant, a dental assistant, and the manager of an assisted living facility. She also held numerous callings throughout her years in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but she especially loved participating in the Scouting program. Carol cherished opportunities to serve, often helping the local missionaries and volunteering wherever she could.

Carol had a fondness for photography and was always capturing moments with her family and friends. She loved Christmas and even occasionally participated as Mrs. Claus or Santa's Elf. Although she was never blessed with children of her own, she loved being involved with her nieces and nephews, often caring for them as if they were hers. Carol was kind and generous, always looking for ways to serve others with love and dedication.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Doriene Farnes. She is survived by her loving husband, Rodney Scott.
