IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Carla Lea Ziemianski, 57, of Idaho Falls, passed away early Monday morning, November 17, 2008, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on July 30, 1951, in Post Mills, Vermont, to Harvey Edgar Chase and Norma Eleanor Hodge Chase. She lived in several communities in New England, including Plymouth, Massachusetts, before moving to and settling in Idaho Falls in 1991.
On August 23, 1975, she married her soul mate, Edward Ziemianski, in Westborough, Massachusetts. She was mother and a homemaker and worked as a administrative professional. She loved crafts, bowling, baseball and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, McKenzi, Peyton, and Derek Riggs of Idaho Falls.
Carla was a voracious reader, but her real passion was golf. She served twice as the President of the Idaho Falls Women’s Golf Association. She will always be loved and missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Ed, and their children,
Daughter, Heather (Trent) Riggs of Idaho Falls;
Daughter, Renee Majumdar of Mount Vernon, Washington;
Son, Jason (Carrie) Ziemianski of Prescott Valley, Arizona;
Mother, Norma (Garth) Russell of Shelley;
Sister, Delores (Marshall) Jackson of Sanford, Florida;
She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Chase, and her father Harvey.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 21, at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon Road), with Deacon Rick Bonney of the Idaho Falls Catholic Community officiating. The Services will include a commemorative gathering to celebrate the joys and memories of Carla. The family will visit with friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the services at Wood East Side.
The family appreciates the kind expression of sympathy through flowers. Alternative expressions may be made as charitable donations to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, Fairfax Road at Virginia Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84103.

Please accept my deepest sympathy. I feel your pain as I lost my beloved wife to this insidious disease almost 10 years ago. Be relieved as death can become a friend when one suffers as long as Carla has. Think of how blessed you were to have her in your life as long as you did, rather than focus solely at the loss. That is how I managed to work through the grieving process. Celebrate her life!

Heather & Trent,
My sympathies go to you and your family. It's so hard to lose a loved one, especially when you have so much family life ahead of you. Take heart in knowing your mom had wonderful memories of you and her grandchildren. I hope knowing your friends and coworkers thoughts are with you will help ease the pain.
Sincerely,
Kimberly Boyd
