Carla Niemeier

Carla Niemeier, 65, of Idaho Falls, passed away, March 18, 2013 at her home. She was born February 2, 1948 in Preston, Idaho to Glen H. Cox and Verdis Bloxham Cox, as the third of seven children. She attended schools in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School. She worked at various jobs including 20 years at the INL. Carla retired in 2000. She married Chris M. Niemeier on November 27, 1976 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Carla enjoying golfing, skiing, traveling, fishing and playing bridge. For many years she and her husband Chris played individual and couples events both competitively and for pleasure. After Chris death, she continued as many of theses activities as she could until her death. She is survived by: Brother, Terry (Dorothy) Cox of Pocatello, ID; Brother Craig Cox of Pocatello, ID; Brother, Scott Cox of Idaho Falls, ID; Brother, Jeffry (Tamara) Cox of Rigby, ID; Brother, Cory (Kathy) Cox of Iona, ID; Sister, Sandra (Wayne) Skelton of Irwin, ID; Mother-in-law Maxine Niemeier; Sister-in-law, Theresa (Buddy) Walters; Brothers-in-law, Paul Niemeier; Scott (Cindy) Niemeier; Todd (Suzanne) Niemeier; 16 nieces and nephews, 38 great nieces and nephews, 2 great great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Chris, parents, Glen and Verdis Cox and her father-in-law, Hank Niemeier, and a great niece. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2013 at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge Ave.). The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the services also at the funeral home.
