Carl Mack Waggoner, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away from heart failure on May 24, 2015, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Urbana, Missouri, on October 28, 1933, to George Adam Waggoner and Mae Viola Johnson Waggoner. He was number six of seven siblings. He graduated from Urbana High School in 1951, where he excelled in basketball. After graduation, he moved to Wyoming to become a river guide. In 1953, he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he was a corporal in the Army Artillery Division during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge, he returned to Wyoming working as a roustabout in the oil field, then at the oxygen acetylene plant. He moved to Idaho Falls in 1951 where he worked for Whitmore Oxygen, then onto the INEL until early retirement, and finally retirement from the Development Workshop in 1996.
While in Wyoming Carl met his life companion, Joyce L. Hansen. They shared 54 years together before Joyce passed away in 2011. To this union they were blessed with four children: Lora, Faye, Phillip and Wally. In 1963, they moved to the house on Elva Street where he lived until he passed. Carl enjoyed going to Fort Hall and gambling. He also liked to fish, camp, and work (puttering) in the yard digging dandelions. He enjoyed spending time and taking walks with his dog, Sno-ball, or sitting on the front porch visiting with the neighbors. He was an awesome grandpa and dearly loved by so many.
