Carl Heiner

Carl Schwab Heiner, 82, of Ammon, formerly of Bedford, Wyoming, passed away August 12, 2018, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Carl was born February 9, 1936, in Afton, Wyoming, to Carl Gottfried Heiner and Frances Lottie Schwab Heiner. He grew up in Bedford, Wyoming, on a farm that he later took over. He attended schools in Bedford and graduated from Star Valley High School. On June 4, 1956, he married the love of his life, Darlene Field, in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. They were blessed with five children, Paul, Carlene, Doyle, Blake and Kevin. Carl and Darlene made their home in Bedford, where Carl worked as a farmer and at Star Valley Cheese. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved working with the youth, especially in scouting where he served for 34 years. He earned the Silver Beaver Award in 2018 and served four missions for the church with his eternal companion. He also served in Bishoprics. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, scouting and wood working. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Darlene Heiner of Ammon, ID; son, Paul (Lynda) Heiner of Ashton, ID; daughter, Carlene (Blair) Thueson of Rexburg, ID; son, Doyle (Donna) Heiner of Rigby, ID; son, Blake (Tammy) Heiner of Roy, UT; son, Kevin (Trina) Heiner of Blackfoot, ID; 23 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Frances Heiner; and brothers, Ralph S. Heiner, Lloyd S. Heiner, and Paul S. Heiner. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2018, at the Bedford LDS Ward, County Road in Bedford, Wyoming, with Brother Shawn Stevens officiating. The family will visit with friends and family Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Friday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Bedford Cemetery.
