Candy (Thurston) Crawford

Candace C. Crawford graduated from this life surrounded by loved ones on November 8, 2022, after 72 years of sharing her light.

Candy arrived October 12, 1950, in Ogden, Utah, to L. Wayne and Hellen A. Thurston. She was the younger shadow to older brother, Dennis Thurston, and was often found with him. She graduated from Ben Lomond High School in Ogden, Utah. Candy went on to Weber State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s in Microbiology with a Minor in Chemistry. She put these skills to use at the University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

She later returned to Utah where she married the love of her life, Charles S. Crawford, in 1979. Together, they built a family adding children, Tiffany and Chris. They lived in Utah, New York, Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, and Idaho. This allowed for many adventures, explorations, and experiences along the way. She has visited all but a handful of states and multiple countries. She loved family and made them a priority.

Candy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her entire adult life. She served in many ways over her lifetime including, but not limited to, an early morning seminary teacher, temple worker, and various other positions.

Candy is survived by her husband, Charles S. Crawford; two children, Tiffany and Mark Nelson, C. Christopher and Diana Crawford; and her five grandchildren, Aubrey, Jakob, Logan, Alex and Cal. She also leaves behind many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and close friends. She rejoined her parents, L. Wayne and Hellen Thurston; her brother, Dennis Thurston; along with many extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Monday, November 14, 2022, at the Rigby 16th Ward, 196 North 4000 East in Rigby, Idaho. The family will visit with friends from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to services. She will be laid to rest at the Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery.
