Click Here To View Memorial Video Charles Robert “Uncle Bob” Andrus, age 76, of Ucon, passed away July 21, 2014, at his home. Bob was born September 1, 1937, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Samuel Reed Andrus and Melba Phyllis Brown Andrus. He attended schools in Ucon and Ammon and graduated from Bonneville High School. He served as a Private First Class in the U. S. Army Reserve. He attended Ricks College and Idaho State University, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. He was selected from a group of educators to represent the State of Idaho at Royalton College in Vermont. On September 1, 1961, he married Jean Caroline McBride in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Bob was a school teacher for 34 years in the community. This is where he received his nickname “Uncle Bob,” from his beloved students. He can be found on the “Wall of Fame” at Bonneville High School as “Teacher of the Year.” He also spent most of his life farming in the Ucon area. Bob was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a two and a half year mission in The Netherlands. He was a security guard at the Idaho Falls Temple for 12 years. He enjoyed cars, was an avid reader and was a talented singer, singing all over the valley. He especially loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors are: Wife: Jean Andrus of Ucon, ID Son: Kerry R. (Elizabeth Bushman) Andrus of Princeton, TX Daughter: CharDawn (Blair) Willis of Ucon, ID Son: C. Thayne (Tammy Guillory) Andrus of Iona, ID Daughter: Stephanie (Darrin) Baldwin of Ucon, ID Son: Patrick S. (Stephanie Ritchie) Andrus of Ucon, ID Daughter: Kate (Josh) Hanks of Salt Lake City, UT Daughter: Jamie (Louis) Sheppard of Boise, ID Brothers: Kendall Andrus and G. Rich Andrus Sisters: Geniece Smith, Portia Morgan, Therel Frei, and Jean Brink, and 22 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gordon and Alyn. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2014, at the Ucon LDS Stake Center, 2967 East 105 North, with Bishop Jay Neeser of the Ucon Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery with Military Rites performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
