Burton Louis Conrad, 68, passed away January 16, 2019, at his home in Ucon, Idaho.
Burton was born October 15, 1950, in Taber, Alberta, Canada, to Louis Herbert Conrad and Ethis Harding Conrad. He was the youngest of eight children. For the majority of his young life, Burton lived and attended school in Taber. He graduated from W. R. Myers High School and then went on to attend BYU where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in French with a minor in both mathematics and physics. He served as a full time missionary in the Franco-Belgian mission.
On August 14, 1973, Burton married Kathleen Marie Ohngren in Manti, Utah. To this union were born four children, Jonathan, Rebecca, James and Annalee. Burton and Kathleen made their home first in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, then in Orem, Utah, before retiring in Ucon, Idaho, in 2014. Burton was a man of many talents and had many jobs over the years, most notably he worked as a computer programmer and a school teacher.
Burton was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a long-standing love of music and singing passed on to him by his mother. He played the trumpet and had a beautiful bass singing voice. You could often find him tinkering and fixing things, skills he learned from his father. Recently, he had been enjoying doing some wood working and making his own wind chimes. Burton had a great love for the outdoors and was a Scout Master for many years. He loved genealogy and family history and served as a missionary helping to index records.
Burton is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Conrad of Ucon, ID; son, Jonathan Conrad of Lethbridge, Canada; daughter, Rebecca (John) Bosworth of Portland, OR; son, James (Dyana) Conrad of Bend, OR; daughter, Annalee Mollinedo of Portland, OR; and fifteen grandchildren.
Burton was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Mary Conrad, Myrna Conrad, Rita Lusk and Jean Cannady.
