Burben Burnell Walker, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 31, 2024, at Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living Community. He was under the care of Symbii Home Health and Hospice.
Burben was born June 22, 1939, in Houston, Texas, to Burben Dolf Walker and Norma Alona Nielsen Walker. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He also attended an engineering trade school in Seattle, Washington.
On February 7, 1958, he married Beverly Jane Walker in Idaho Falls. Burben and Beverly made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Burben worked as a Deputy Sheriff for Bonneville County. Prior to that, he owned his own business, Walker Safety and Signing, for over twenty years. He also worked with the City of Idaho Falls as a traffic engineer.
Burben was a member of the Idaho Falls Civitan Club, and with them he designed and built a petting zoo. He enjoyed bowling, traveling, and golfing.
Burben is survived by his daughter, Lynn (Dave) Holverson of Shoshone, ID; daughter, Teresa Kay (Rod) Ward of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Raymond (Kitty) Walker of Little Rock, AR; 6 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:30-4 p.m. at 2232 East 25th Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho, on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
Burben will be buried next to his wife, Beverly Walker.
