BRYCEN BLACKBURN
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Our beloved son, brother and friend, Brycen Monty Blackburn, 18, of Idaho Falls, went home to be with the Lord on September 20, 2009 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Blackfoot.
Brycen was born August 3, 1991 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Christian K. Blackburn and Holly Angela Berry. He lived in Idaho Falls most of his life and resided in Boise from 2003-2005. He was a graduate of Hillcrest High School.
Brycen loved football and was active in it since he was four years old. He was an active player of the 2008 Hillcrest High School 4A championship football team. He played Free Safety and received the Hillcrest High 2008 Defensive Back of the Year Award. He was also listed as an All-City first team defensive back and All-Conference second team defensive back. He also loved Baseball and played Basketball, Soccer and Wrestling.
He worked as an umpire for the City of Ammon girls softball, laborer for Superior Boiler, Salesman for Journey’s shoes and was employed with Swire Coca-Cola as a Merchandiser at the time of his death. He had dreams of becoming an EMT and Firefighter.
He enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing with his dad, listening to music with his mom, playing his guitar and swimming. He loved everything about the game of football, especially when it came to the Denver and Boise State Broncos.
Brycen touched so many lives in his short time here on this Earth. He was known for his kind heart and contagious smile. He was an incredible friend to so many, he loved spending time with this family and he was an amazing role model to his little brothers whom he loved very much.

I am so sorry to hear about the death of your son. My heart just aches for you. Our son Bradley was killed on June 19th in a motorcycle crash. There is nothing that can take away your emptiness, but I just wanted to tell you that you are in my prayers. I know it was and is the love and prayers of others that have helped us get this far. I cry every day. I miss him so much but, it is getting easier and through God's love we will make it. Brycen was at my granddaughter Chelsey Huether's apartment in Pocatello earlier in the evening. When she told us about the accident we were filled with grief and empathy for your family. May God help and comfort you. If you would like to talk to me feel free to e-mail or call. My phone number is 523-9212. I know talking with others who have gone through this has helped me.
