BRYCE TRANTER
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Bryce Laverne Tranter, 92, of Idaho
Falls, died June 5, 2004, at home where he lived with his family.
Bryce was born June 18, 1911, in Eskridge, Kansas, to Fredrick George
Tranter and Bertha May Nixon Tranter. He grew up and attended schools
in Eskridge where he graduated from high school. Bryce faithfully served
his country in the U. S. Army.
He has lived in Mobile, Alabama; Tombstone, Arizona;
Flippin, Arkansas, and several countries overseas while serving in the
Army. He moved to Idaho Falls to be near his son and family 13 years ago.
He married Marcella Jean Adams and she preceded him in
death. He married Martha Barker and she passed away in 1985. He worked
as a ranch hand, restaurant owner, and retired from the Army civil service.
He was a member of the Methodist Church. Bryce enjoyed
hunting, fishing, woodworking, cooking, outdoor activities, and gardening.

Grandson: Caleb Tranter,
Granddaughter: Rachel Tranter, all of Idaho Falls, ID
Brother: Wendell [Ennie] Tranter, Eskridge, KS
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
Bryce’s family, as well as countless others, were
continually touched by his strength, wisdom, and humble spirit. His outlook
on life was consistently optimistic, and he was always ready with an encouraging
word. Bryce leaves behind family and friends who loved him and will miss
him dearly. We look forward to the day we will see him again.
Private Family Services will be held. Arrangements are
under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
