Bryan Michael Duffy

Bryan Duffy, also lovingly known as, "Bry, Duffy and Duff", 33, passed away on May 11, 2024, at EIRMC due to complications from pneumonia.

Bryan was born on October 15, 1990, in Mesa, Arizona, to Michael (Mike) Duffy and Colleen (Nicholson) Duffy. He was blessed with a beautiful, older sister, Candice (Duffy) Gartin.

After Bryan graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 2009, he attended Idaho State University (ISU), where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in business management with an emphasis in sports management in May, 2014.

While attending college, he played baseball for the ISU Bengals under head coach, Bob Hunt.  Bob recently said this about Bryan "I've rarely coached a young man who was determined to and so driven to wanting to give it 110% all the time. He is one of my ball players that touched my heart right from the get-go!".

After graduating, he worked as a Front-end Service Operations Manager for Albertson's grocery company. He regarded his co-workers as "family" and enjoyed helping and talking to customers.

As many know, he loved to play baseball, softball, guitar, and Pokémon. Recently, he discovered a new love for the game of chess. He was zealous about sharing how much he loved to play. He would ALWAYS volunteer to teach anyone interested (or not) in playing.  His goal was to obtain Chess Grand Master status.

Bryan is survived by his father "Pops" Mike, "Mama Bear" Colleen, sister Candice (Trevor), nephews Coulson & Casen, grandma, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who called him brother.

Bryan will be remembered fondly, as an extraordinary human being. He touched the lives of many people during his time here on earth and many will feel his absence. Take peace in knowing he is with our loving God now, playing on heaven's baseball team, playing chess, making chess boards, and becoming a Chess Grand Master.

A celebration of life will be hosted by Candice Gartin, Brek Martinez, and Austin Whittle on June 15, 2024, at the Shilo Inns Idaho Falls, Idaho beginning at 6:00 pm.

The Broken Chain

We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name, In life we loved you dearly, In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you, You did not go alone; For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories, Your love is still our guide; And though we cannot see you, You are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
