Brian McKie Robinson, 84, a longtime resident of the Ucon area, died March 27, 2011, at his home due to extended illnesses. Brian was born July 6, 1926, at his family home in Ucon, Idaho, the son of Samuel Taylor Robinson and Mary Ann Birchall Robinson. He grew up on the (1891) homestead farm, where he helped his parents. He attended Ucon Elementary School and Ucon High School, where he enjoyed learning and participating in activities. During World War II he was drafted his senior year of high school and served in the U. S. Army as a Medic in the Pacific Theater in Okinawa and the Philippines. Returning home in 1945, Brian attended Ricks College, where he met Donna Mae Rytting. They were married December 2, 1948, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Brian finished his education at Utah State University, receiving a bachelor’s degree as a secondary teacher of mathematics and physics. Brian taught 34 years, three in Rockland, then back in Ucon while assisting his mother with the farm. He taught in School District #91 at Idaho Falls High School for 10 years, then as department head of mathematics at Skyline High School for 21 years. He always assisted as a timer of all kinds of sports during those years. He retired in 1988. A skilled carpenter, Brian enjoyed building in the area. He built homes for family and friends and was especially proud of their family home on the farm. He and Donna loved to travel and had opportunity for travel back east and to most states west of the Mississippi River. He always enjoyed music, sports, and church activities. Besides his parents, Brian was preceded in death by a son, Robert Brian Robinson, a half sister, Mary Robinson Richie, a brother, George W. Robinson, and stepfather, William Saunders. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Donna, of Ucon, and three daughters, Linda (Earle) Reseigh of Ucon, Gail Ann Robison of Ucon, and Debra K. Robinson of Spokane Valley, WA. His grandchildren are ChaRee (Gary) Preston of Island Park, James E. Reseigh of Ucon, Matthew L. (Jelena) Reseigh of Bonneville County, Angela Robinson, and Thomas A. Reseigh of Idaho Falls; great grandchildren are Miles M. Reseigh, Scarlett B. Reseigh, Cole D. Preston, and Ashley M. Preston. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Ucon Monument Ward for their kindness and loving care. Also, to Aspen Home Health and Hospice and Dr. Margaret Wagner for their care and loving support. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2011, at the Ucon LDS Monument Ward, 10854 North 41 East, Ucon. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Wood East Side, and Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m., at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
