Brent David Stoneberg, 68, of Idaho Falls, passed away on November 23, 2014, at his home.
He was born November 8, 1946, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Bert Daniel Stoneberg and Alzada Rebecca Hunter Stoneberg. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War, and he was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Brent worked for the City of Idaho Falls as a Survey Engineering Crew Chief from 1968 until he retired in 2003. In 1997, he married Zelma Coralie Casper. They were later divorced.
He enjoyed fishing, walking, doing crossword puzzles, buying lottery scratch tickets, and surfing the internet. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was constantly bragging about them.
Brent will be forever remembered as the selfless, kind, and genuine man he was.
He is survived by his:
son, Jess Dylan Casper;
stepson, Anthony Casper;
brother, Bert Daniel Stoneberg, Jr.;
brother, Harvey Gustav Stoneberg;
brother, Leon Douglas Stoneberg;
niece, Kayla (Ben) Beard;
nephew, Kenny Stoneberg;
grandson, Ian Beau Casper;
granddaughter, Ellie Faith Casper.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Claude Edward Stoneberg; and a grandson, Collin Hunt Casper.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Idaho Falls.
