Brent Elwood Dye, 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully at his home on January 14, 2015. He was under the care of Hearts of Hope Hospice.
He was born May 3,1939, in Firth, Idaho, to Etha Jeanette Quinn Dye and Barber Dewane Dye. His growing up years were spent on a farm in Firth helping his parents and seven other siblings accomplish the needed chores and responsibilities of farm life. He graduated high school in Firth, Idaho.
Brent's greatest desire in life was to be a truck driver and to see other parts of the West. He drove truck for Clayton Trucking of Idaho Falls, then was a bus driver for the INL for 28 years.
He was married to Nancy Bevin and they had three children, Michael, Kevin, and Staci. He loved his children very much and they were a very important part of his life.
On June 17, 1983, he married Linda Sharp in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple and she has been his loving companion since. Brent and Linda loved the beauty of the out-of-doors and have enjoyed spending a lot of time camping together with family and friends. They also enjoyed traveling and visiting unique places throughout the United States and Canada.
Brent was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he enjoyed serving in various callings, some of which were Elders Quorum President, Sunday School President and Ward Clerk.
He is survived in life by his wife Linda S. Dye, two children, Kevin Dye and Staci Dye (Lance) Aschinger, five grandchildren, William, Tim, Shelby, Austin and Colton, and two great grandchildren as well as
brother, Dewane (Jeanice) Dye of Blackfoot, ID;
brother, William (Millie) Dye of FL;
brother, Kerry (Irene) Dye of Twin Falls, ID;
sister, Barbara Taylor of Inkom, ID.
He was preceded in death by his son Michael David Dye, his parents, and two sisters, Lois Elaine Bolander and Ila Jeanette Dufur.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 19, 2015, at Idaho Falls LDS 9th Ward, 395 Second Street, with Bishop David Gemar officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, Sunday, and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in the Archer-Sutton Cemetery.
