Brent Benson Barrett, 39, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 15, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Brent was born October 15, 1977, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Gregory Paul Barrett and Linda Rae Harris Isaacs. As a child, Brent spent a lot of time with his brothers playing in the dirt and helping his mom and dad build homes. He grew up and attended schools in Rigby. He participated in basketball and wrestling in high school and attended Seminary classes. He graduated from Rigby High School in 1995. At the age of 16, he received his Eagle Scout Award, of which he was very proud. He also attended Idaho State University.
He worked installing siding for a few years before beginning his career as a HVAC Journeyman in heating and air conditioning.
On September 11, 1999, he married Carrie Russell in Idaho Falls. To this union were born two children, Kiegan in 2000, and Mikayla in 2002. Brent and Carrie were later divorced but they remained very close over the years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was very active in the church in his youth. Brent had a strong testimony in the gospel. He enjoyed Sunday football, however, his real love was spending time with his children. One of the activities he enjoyed was swimming in the canal with them. Kiegan and Mikayla were the light of his life.
Brent was a wonderful uncle. He loved being around his nieces and nephews. He would always spoil them with lots of treats. He gave them anything they wanted. He had a special bond with his brothers and sisters. He enjoyed hunting and camping and participated in yearly camping trips with his family every Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. We will miss his fun sense of humor. He made jokes even through his final hours. He will always live on in out hearts.
