Brent Jack Bailey

Brent Jack Bailey, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 30, 2026, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Brent was born June 21, 1942, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to John Israel Bailey and Golda Hanks Bailey. He grew up on a dairy farm in Ammon. He attended schools in Ammon and Corvallis, Oregon, and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1960. After graduation, he served in the National Guard.

On April 3, 1965, he married Carolyn Hammon in Idaho Falls. They were later divorced.

On June 25, 1985, he married Shannon Renee Hess in Palmer, Alaska. Brent and Shannon made their home in Idaho Falls where Brent worked as a fireman and paramedic for the City of Idaho Falls, retiring after 26 ½ years of service. He worked on chain saws and did drywall part-time.

He was a member of GWRRA - Honda Goldwing Club and he taught EMT courses for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling, and exploring with his wife.

Brent is survived by his wife, Shannon Bailey of Idaho Falls; sons, Brian J. Bailey of Idaho Falls, Brad (Tiffiny) Bailey of Idaho Falls, and Terry Lynn Bailey of Stillwater, MN; granddaughter, Mallery (Kameron) Gillins; and grandsons, Tucker Bailey and Connor Bailey; and sister, Judith Gilmartin of Vancouver, WA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. Inurnment will follow at the Ammon Cemetery where Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
