Brenda T. Summers, 82, of Meridian, passed away on November 21, 2025, at St. Luke's Medical Center in Boise. She was surrounded by many loving family members when she passed. She will be missed by many.
Brenda was born September 1, 1943, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Parry Bair Preece and Lydia Talbot Preece. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She also attended Ricks College.
On April 5, 1968, she married Darrel Emmett Summers in Idaho Falls, ID. Brenda worked as a secretary. She was also a wonderful wife and mother.
She was a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the gospel. She loved attending the temple. She loved her family and friends with all her heart and was always there to help with anything they needed. She loved to laugh, have fun, and make great memories with her family. She loved the outdoors. She and her family have so many great memories of camping, boating, and snowmobiling. She enjoyed writing, crafts, scrapbooking, crocheting, and sewing.
Brenda is survived by her daughter, Dara Lee (Bryon) Stanley of Syracuse, UT; son, Wade (Heidal) Summers of Middleton, ID; son, Jason (Rebecca) Summers of Deary, ID; son, Bryan Summers of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Michelle (Tad) Porter of Meridian, ID; daughter, Shayla (Delynn Randall) Freeman of Idaho Falls, ID; twin brother, Brent (Cathy) Preece of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Linda (Steven) Bradley of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Toni (Kent) Adams of Idaho Falls, ID; 20 grandchildren, and 12.5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrel Emmett Summers; son, David Darrel Summers; mother, Lydia Talbot Preece; father, Parry Bair Preece; sister, Penny Gay Preece Thomas; brother, Larry LaMonte Preece; sister, Evelyn Nadine Preece Lenz Garcia; and her brother, Jay Lenz.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue in Idaho Falls. A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
