Brenda Schmid

Brenda Pearl Schmid, 55, of Rigby passed away April 7, 2013 due to a brain aneurism. Brenda was born October 29, 1957 in Idaho Falls to Blair H. Perrenoud and Gwen Catherine Weekes Perrenoud. She grew up in Idaho Falls with her three sisters Karen (James) Beckman of Finksburg, Maryland, LaRae (Judd) Wilson of Millville, Utah; and Deanne (Mike) Barron of Idaho Falls. She attended Emerson Elementary, Central Junior High and Idaho Falls High School. On December 14, 1973, she married Michael Schmid. Together they raised their three children, Cherity (James) Woolf, Ron "RB" (JaNell) Schmid, and Christopher Schmid, all of Idaho Falls. They were later divorced. Brenda worked at a number of places throughout her life. One of her favorite jobs was at Tot-Lot Day Care where she worked with the infants and toddlers. In 2011, Brenda moved to Rigby so as to be closer to her place of employment. She worked as an assistant manager of the Ririe Maverick. She enjoyed her coworkers and the people she met through her work, sharing her smile and making many friends. Brenda most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren Michael and Mason Woolf, ShaeLei and Jace Schmid, JayLee and Elijah Schmid. She especially enjoyed the traditions and magic of holidays. Tree decorating and baking were a must at Christmas, dying eggs and sharing her favorite flavored jelly beans at Easter, dressing up for Halloween, and carrot pudding at Thanksgiving, were also traditions that were never missed. Brenda enjoyed crocheting for friends and families. She was known for her beautiful writing and would often give others inspirational quotes created with her amazing talent of calligraphy. She enjoyed camping and picnics with family. Brenda was an avid reader and notorious for her extensive Disney cartoon collection and vast knowledge of Scooby-Doo. Brenda is survived by her children, sisters, grandchildren, four nieces, and five nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brother-in-laws, Bill Bingham and Ron Schmid. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Wood Funeral Home (273 North Ridge Avenue). The family will visit with friends Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. and 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services, both at Wood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made through Brenda Schmid's memorial fund at Beehive Federal Credit Union (1650 East Sunnyside Road) in Idaho Falls. Burial will be in Archer-Sutton Cemetery.
