Boyd James Thomas, 43, of Rigby, passed away March 26, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was under the care of his loving family and Solace Hospice.
Boyd was born October 10, 1982, in Champaign, Illinois, to Blair L Thomas and Gaylene Murphy Thomas. He grew up and attended schools in California and Washington, and was a member of the ROTC for three years. He graduated from Clover Park High School in Lakewood, Washington. He then served a two-year mission in Tallahassee, Florida. He also attended EITC in computer programming.
On March 1, 2008, he married Debra Marie Park in the Idaho Falls Temple. Boyd and Debi made their home in Rigby, Idaho. Boyd worked as a copier repair technician for Pacific Office Automation.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the 501st Legion - Star Wars of Idaho Falls. He enjoyed fixing computers and networking, playing video games with his family, camping and dutch oven cooking.
Boyd is survived by his wife, Debi Thomas of Rigby, ID; father, Blair L Thomas of Ammon, ID; mother, Gaylene Thomas-Munger of Firth, ID; stepfather, Ken Munger of Firth, ID; sister, Heather Thomas of Ammon, ID; sister, Dani (Cody) Reed of Kuna, ID; brother, Skyler Thomas of Ammon, ID; step-sister, Kinzi (Thomas) Jensen of Corrine, UT; step-sister, Ashli (Travis) Mortimer of Idaho Falls; and step-brother, Warren (Daniel) Baraunstein of Peoria, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Boyd L Thomas and Hannah Isabell Thomas; grandfather, Thomas James Murphy; and grandmother, Veloy Crow Murphy.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2026, at the Ririe Ward, 285 2nd West, with Bishop Jason Averill officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Friday from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
