BUD SHINDURLING
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Boyd Thomas “Bud” Shindurling,
82, of Idaho Falls, died July 28, 2004, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical
Center following an extended illness.
He was born December 25, 1921, in Mackay, Idaho, to George
Francis Shindurling and Ruth Amber Brandsteitter Shindurling. The family
moved to Blackfoot in 1923 and he grew up there. He attended Holy Rosary
and Blackfoot public schools, then graduated from Blackfoot High School.
He served as a Sergeant in the U. S. Army National Guard during World
War II. He served in the Pacific Theater and was overseas for 39 months.
He married Donna Marie Fullmer on June 24, 1945, in Blackfoot.
Their marriage was solemnized February 22, 1957, in the Idaho Falls LDS
Temple. They raised their family in the Idaho Falls area, where he worked
as a grocer at Bud's Market, Earl's, and Cook's, then was Assistant Manager
at Farr's Jewelry for many years. He also worked as Transportation Supervisor
for School District #91 in Idaho Falls until his retirement. They lived
in Jackson, Wyoming, from 1985-1998, managing the Pioneer Homestead Apartments
for Senior Citizens. Following the death of their daughter, Kaye, they
helped raise their grandson, Ryan Yorgensen.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints, he served as Bishop's counselor, Executive Secretary, and
Ward Clerk in five Bishoprics, as Officiator in the Idaho Falls Temple
from February, 1996 to February, 2003, as well as various other positions
over the years. A member of the Idaho Falls Lions Club, he served as Lion
Tamer. He enjoyed skiing, golf, fishing, fly tying. Always affectionate,
he loved hugging and kissing his family and friends.

10 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Kaye Marie Yorgensen,
a sister, Pauline Webb, and a brother, Patrick Joseph Shindurling.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July
31, 2004, at the Idaho Falls LDS South Stake Center, 2051 South Emerson,
with Bishop Kipp Manwaring of the Idaho Falls LDS Crestwood Ward officiating.
The family will visit with friends Friday from 7 to 8:30
p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Saturday for one hour prior
to the services at the church.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home.
Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County
Veterans Team.
