Boyd Rollins Morris passed away July 12, 2012, at his home. He was born on November 3, 1924, in Parowan, Utah, to Ray Fowler Morris and Clarice Rollins Morris. He grew up in Parowan, attended Parowan High School, and graduated from Ogden High School. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. Boyd continued his education by attending Utah State University where he received a Master’s Degree in Education. He married Wanda Ella Todd on February 28, 1944, and they were later sealed in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple on August 4, 1949. They were the parents of three boys and two girls. Wanda preceded him in death on March 28, 1989. On August 8, 1989, he married Fonya Lee Byerly. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Boyd was a career educator and worked as a Vocational Agriculture instructor, Principal of Rigby Junior High School and District Administrator of Jefferson County. He is survived by his wife, Fonya, three sons and two daughters: Boyd Todd (Jean) Morris of Ashton, Russell Ray (Karen) Morris of Rigby, Larry D. (Marty) Morris of Thailand, Jackie (Sid) Stoumbaugh of Idaho Falls and Diane (Ross) Wilding of Idaho Falls; four stepsons, David (Robin) Winterfeld,of Idaho Falls, Jay Winterfeld of Swan Valley, Leon A. Winterfeld of Idaho Falls and Dan (Stephanie) Winterfeld of Austin, Texas; three brothers, Lyle (Verone) Morris of Hurricane, UT, Clair (Suzanne) Morris of Cedar City, UT, and George D. (Elona) Morris of Cedar Hills, UT. His posterity consists of 21 grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heidi Morris; and a great grandson, Austin C. Steel. His mother loved him! Sometimes. (printed at Boyd’s request.) The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Alliance Hospice for their kind and loving care. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the Idaho Falls LDS 2nd Ward, 855 S. Boulevard, with Bishop Peter Demitropolis officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery with military rites performed by the Jefferson County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.

The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.
