Bonnie Marlene Stuart Bailey, 61, of Shelley, passed away July 10, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Rigby. She was under the care of Solace Hospice.
Bonnie was born September 2, 1962, in Norwood, Massachusetts, to Richard Christopher Stuart and Marlene Frances Troiano Stuart. She grew up and attended schools in Smithfield, Rhode Island, and attended Smyrna Beach High School.
In 1982, she married Alan Wayne Bailey in Orlando, Florida. They were later divorced. Bonnie made her home in Shelley, Idaho, where she worked as a customer service representative for Lumen and also in home healthcare for Qualicare.
She was a free spirit who enjoyed hunting for crystals, panning for gold, and mining. She loved horses. Bonnie never failed to rescue every stray animal she ever saw. She loved to send vitamins to her family to keep them healthy. When she retired, she traveled around the U.S. in her RV. She used to have a home in Rimrock, Arizona, where she liked to stay in the winter. Bonnie cared about everyone. She was always smiling, friendly, considerate, and an all-around joy to be around. She liked to camp at Kelly Canyon and look for obsidian. She always took her granddaughter out for ice cream. Her favorite flavor was huckleberry. She enjoyed making jewelry. She made a lot of necklaces. She also liked to sew.
Bonnie is survived by her sons, Jamie Christopher Bailey of Pocatello, ID, Stephen Bailey of Shelley, ID, and Joshua Bailey of Tilden, NE; daughter, Shaina (Jason Danielson) Spiegel of Rigby, ID; mother, Marlene Spence of Ormond Beach, FL; brother, Richard Christopher Stuart of Apopka, FL; sister, Stephanie Watson of Grants Pass, OR; and three grandchildren, Mason Bailey, Alexander Bailey, and Desire Danielson.
She was preceded in death by her father.
