Bonnie Schultz

Bonnie Mae Adams Schultz, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, passed away from this life on Sunday, May 27, 2018, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Virgil Ray Schultz; six sons, Donald Ray Schultz (Mary Tess), Alan Lee Schultz (Diane), David Walter Schultz (Shellie), Robert James Schultz (Lola), Bryan LeRoy Schultz (Fauneil) and Roger Wayne Schultz (Heidi); one daughter, Vera Louise Schultz Alder (Randy); she is also survived by one sister, Bettie Adams Mortensen; and one brother, Clyde Adams. She was preceded in death by her son, James Michael Schultz; a daughter, Barbara Jean; and brothers, Edwin, Elmer and Eugene Adams. Bonnie was born in the San Antonia Community Hospital of Upland, California, on March 4, 1936, to Floyd "Frank" Powhatten Adams and Alma Greear Adams. She moved around a lot as a child and finally met her husband, Virgil, in 1953, who was serving at Travis A.F.B. California. They were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple on October 8, 1953. As an Air Force bride, she found herself moved from place to place with great frequency. They had seven sons and two daughters. Bonnie and Virgil served LDS missions as a couple to Louisiana, Kenya and Martin’s Cove, Wyoming. They enjoyed traveling to different parts of the country, although Bonnie hated flying with a passion and they usually went by car. Bonnie held many callings in the LDS church throughout her life: organist, Primary President and YW President. She never said no to anyone who needed her service, even though she was very shy. She trusted in the Lord, and knew she could accomplish whatever He asked of her. Bonnie suffered with rheumatoid arthritis, and although she lived with constant pain, she never complained. She enjoyed planting a garden and tending to vegetables and flowers. She canned and preserved all sorts of meats, fruits and vegetables. She made bread from scratch up until the time of her hospitalization. She was a quiet woman, with an unbelievable spiritual strength. We are grateful to have had her here on earth and we know she will find peace in the Lord’s waiting arms as He welcomes her home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018, at the Ammon LDS 9th Ward, 4030 John Adams Parkway, with Bishop Jade Dye officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be at 1:45 p.m. in the Cache-Clawson Cemetery in Tetonia, Idaho.
