Bonnie Lue Kirkpatrick

Bonnie Lue Gardner Kirkpatrick, 84, of Iona, passed away February 6, 2026, at her home. She was under the care of her loving family and Oakstone Hospice.

Bonnie was born February 8, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Lewis James Gardner and Leone Ary Nance Gardner. She grew up and attended schools in Kaysville and graduated from Davis High School. She also attended Weber State College.

On August 12, 1960, she married her high school sweetheart, Gerald Byron Kirkpatrick, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Bonnie and Gerald made their home in Kaysville, Utah, on the family property and farm where she had been raised. She and Gerald raised their seven children in this home located next door to Grandma Gardner. Once their children had all graduated, Bonnie and Gerald moved to Iona, Idaho, where they have lived for the past 20 years.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bonnie loved her neighbors and her extended ward family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, fishing, family history, reading, socializing, and serving others.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Gerald Kirkpatrick of Iona, ID; son, Michael (Kelly) Kilpatrick of Roy, UT; daughter, Nancy (David) Jones of Iona, ID; son, Ryan (Sheri) Kirkpatrick of Farmington, UT; daughter, Katie (Barney) Boynton of West Jordan, UT; daughter, Jaimee (Elden) Killian of Pasco, WA; sister, Mariann (Richard) Thorson of Syracuse, UT; 30 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Leone Gardner; son, Jay Gardner Kirkpatrick; and daughter, Shannon Corona.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the Iona 10th Ward, 5169 East Denning, with Bishop Ian Archibald officiating. The family will visit with friends from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to services at the church.
