Bonnie Jones

Click Here To View Memorial Video Bonnie Carol Jones, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Bonnie was born July 3, 1937, in Milford, Utah, to Daniel James Stewart and Eva Carol Stewart. She grew up in Nevada, graduating from Lincoln High School in Panaca, Nevada in 1955. She earned her Bachelors Degree from the University of Nevada-Reno in 1959. Bonnie worked for a year as an elementary school teacher in Gunnison, Utah before serving an LDS mission to Australia. On September 25, 1962, she married Clifford Jones in the St. George, Utah LDS Temple. They lived in Provo, Utah, Nevada, and Wyoming, and had six children together. Bonnie and Clifford later divorced. She worked as an archivist at the BYU Library and for more than ten years at Melaleuca, from where she retired. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many capacities, including as Relief Society President, Primary President and Young Women's President. She loved being a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed watching ice skating and the Utah Jazz, and BYU Football. She loved chocolate, reading, cooking, John Wayne, lilacs, America, the gospel of Jesus Christ, small children, celebrating the holidays even the small ones (do you know when Pig Day is?) and time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Bonnie is survived by daughter, DaNae Carol (Gary) Leu of Layton, UT; daughter, Shana Lyn Jones of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Stewart Owen (Brooke) Jones of Boise, ID; son, Brent Jones (Chase McDonald) of Dallas, TX; daughter, Randa Kay (Shawn) Dye of Island Park, ID; daughter, Danielle Jones (Matt) Cartwright of Portland, OR; sister, Ramona (Edward) Tomsik of Utah; 15 grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant half-brother, three infant sisters and her ex-husband, Clifford Jones. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at the Ucon LDS Stake Center, 10854 North 41 East, with Bishop Jay Neeser officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Thursday from 10:00 am to 10:45 am prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
