Bonnie Gosnell

Bonnie Jean Gosnell, 54, of Idaho Falls, died peacefully in her sleep with her beloved husband by her side, and returned home to her heavenly father. On this day we lost a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was born June 10, 1957 in Idaho Falls, to Ted Elmer Ashment and Alene LaRue Shumway Ashment. She grew up and attended Star Valley Elementary, and graduated from Sky Vu High School. She married Randy Eames and together they had a son, Robert Eames. They later divorced. She married Richard Barber and with that joined two more sons Jared and Lance Barber. They later divorced. On April 23, 1991, she married her soul mate, Alvin Danial Gosnell, in Wendover, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple August 7, 1998. Bonnie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the church. She loved to bear her testimony and was always the first to the podium. She enjoyed reading, fishing, camping, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. Her greatest joy in life was her family and doing stuff for them. She loved nothing more than taking her grandchildren to the park, having sleep overs and making them yarchies. She always had a dollar stashed away for giving the babies a treat. She made blankets for them and personalized each one. She carried out a family tradition to make sure each grand baby had new jammies on Christmas Eve. Since she couldn’t be with all of them she called each home and read them all a Christmas Story and sang with them a song. She never missed a birthday. Grandma Bonnie (Grandma Ducks) had something special with each one of her little angels. She marked a spot in each and everyone of our hearts that will always go on. There aren’t enough kind words to express the kind of person our mother was. She will truly be missed by anyone who knew her. Bonnie is survived by: Her husband, Alvin Gosnell of Idaho Falls; Son, Rob (Becca) Eames of Logan, UT; Son, Jared (Sasha) Barber of Ririe, ID; Son, Lance (Dawn) Barber of Blackfoot, ID; Brother, Mike (Reesa) Ashment of Salt Lake City, UT; Brother, Dan (Debra) Ashment of Texas; Sister, Sherry Andersen, of Ririe, ID; 9 Grandchildren and several nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Elaine Quinn; brother, Jody Ashment; and her mother, Alene. In her memory their will be a private service at Wood Funeral Home in Idaho Falls on Thursday, October 27, 2011. Following the private services the family will meet with friends and extended family from 1-3 p.m. at the Ririe Stake Center (14061 N. 130 E.). She will be laid to rest Friday October 28, 2011 in the Fairview Cemetery in Star Valley, WY. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Research Center for Diabetes.

The family will meet with friends and extended famly from 1-3:00 p.m. at the Ririe Stake Center (14061 N. 130 E.). Burial will be Friday in Fairview Cemetery in Star Valley, WY.
